Matthew James Long, Jr. is an accomplished musician and composer. Playing several instruments, Matthew is diverse in his abilities. Matthew has had the privilege of accompanying several well known gospel artists such as Kim McFarland, Lonnie Hunter, Pastor Carlis Moody, Jr., and others. He has also performed in bands while opening up for artists such as Anthony Hamilton and Chrisette Michele.
He founded his music publishing company, Chordmony Music, in 2000 under ASCAP. The company was incorporated in February of 2020 where Matthew serves as President and CEO.
With a strong Christian foundation, Matthew has produced music on several gospel albums including First Jurisdiction Illinois Mass Choir, Darwin Randolph, and his own Christian jazz band, Instrumental Praise. He served as the District Minister of Music for the Obe Hendricks Memorial District for 14 years, Assistant State Minister of Music, and State Organist for Third Jurisdiction Illinois. Matthew currently serves in several church capacities, local Minister of Music for the Inspirational Deliverance Center Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Dr. Shirley A. Hughes, District Minister of Music of the C.M. Hughes Memorial District, and Music Director for First Jurisdiction Illinois Music Department.
As the leader of Chordmony Music, Inc., Matthew seeks to create an original sound that impacts the mind, body, and soul.
